Real estate negotiators are employed by Registered Real Estate Agents and are issued with an authority tag by the Board of Valuer’s, Appraisers and Estate Agents Malaysia (BOVAEA). Always ask for the tag when working with someone claiming to be a real estate negotiator.
Colour Red: The colour red denotes that the bearer of the tag is a Real Estate Negotiator or a Probationary Real Estate Agent. On the other hand, a BLUE background colour identifies the tag bearer as a Registered Real Estate Agent.
QR Code: This allows you to use your mobile device to scan and verify that the tag bearer is indeed registered with the BOVAEA.
Firm: The name of the real estate agency or firm that the tag bearer is registererd with. The card is replaced whenever the tag bearer joins a new agency.
REN Name: There are TWO names printed on the card. The larger print name is the ‘pseudo’ print name used by the negotiator in conducting business while the smaller print name is the full birth name in accordance with the individual’s NRIC.
REN Number: Each Real Estate Negotiator is assigned a unique REN number. This REN number is required to be displayed in all forms of communication and marketing collaterals. The general public can verify whether the REN is authorized through the BOVAEA web page.
Hologram: A state-of-the-art hologram image of the BOVAEA logo has been created to distinguish it from unauthorized counterfeit tags.
Each tag contains a QR code that verifies that person’s qualifications when scanned.
As a member of the public, you are within your rights to demand that the Real Estate Agent or Negotiator that you are working with show you their tags for verification.
